At the beginning of the year, the staff of St. Mary’s put together a document called St. Mary’s Way of Being Community. This document reflects the nature and culture of our school and how we go about our daily life at school.

Each week, we focus on one of the attributes of this document and talk about it with the students on Monday morning assembly, as well as in our classrooms. At the end of each month, students from each year level are awarded the St Mary’s Way Award based on them demonstrating the St Mary’s Way through their interactions with the staff, peers and wider community.

This week our focus is on the words and actions of offering hospitality to ALL in our community. Hospitality is the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers. As a Catholic school we look forward to extending our hospitality with the many visitors we will welcome to our school this week, during our External School Review.
