WHAT IS THE SIGN OF THE CROSS?
For some of our school community, you may have a child / children coming home telling you that they have learnt how to make the sign of the cross. For many non-Catholics, you may ask what this is. The sign of the cross is a gesture that we make at the beginning of our prayers. As Catholics, we are invited and encouraged to make the Sign of the Cross at the beginning and end of prayers and liturgical celebrations as it can be a sign of moving to a special time to talk to or listen to God. God is named three times in this prayer. It is a mini creed that recognises and celebrates the Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. - Barack Obama
